LIFELINE CHICAGO AND CROWN PRINCESS ASSIST THE MARKO PAJIC SCHOOL

Belgrade, 16 December 2022 – The HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation and Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, which is under the patronage of Her Royal Highness, continue their devotion to assisting the children of Serbia with their most current donation, which was delivered to the Marko Pajić Elementary School in the Viča village in the Municipality of Lučani, Serbia.

This enormous contribution was made possible by an incredibly generous donation provided by The Three Kolo Group – the Circle of Serbian Sisters of St. George of Joliet, Illinois, the Circle of Serbian Sisters of Kneginja Zorka of Lansing, Illinois, and the Circle of Serbian Sisters St. Archangel Michael of Lansing, Illinois.

The students of this school will now have significantly improved learning conditions with these valuable gifts for their school library. The donations included seven bookshelves, two round tables, twelve student chairs, one instructor chair, carpeting, a large whiteboard, two large cork boards, a large geographical map of the world, pictures of Saint Sava and Nikola Tesla, as well as books written in the English language.

“I am very happy that such a great effort was made possible for the children to have better learning conditions. I sincerely thank the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago for their willingness to always support and provide for the youngest, and most wonderful sisters from the Three Kolo Group. The support of these wonderful women means so much to us, as we are continuing the long-lasting tradition of the Royal family of Serbia, knowing that my husband’s grandmother, Queen Maria, a remarkable woman of great heart, was the Patron of the Circle of Serbian Sisters.

It is crucial that we do what we can to support our children, to ensure that they have good conditions for living, learning, and having the best possible childhood. By providing to children, we are ensuring their future, but also the future of all of us. And there is no greater gift, than an honest and satisfied smile on a child’s face”, said HRH Crown Princess Katherine.

With your generosity and benevolence, you made it easier for all of us to work and struggle in the search for new knowledge. This important gesture is a concrete testimony of the recognition of the importance of school libraries in the educational system for the development of creativity, skills, and expansion of students' knowledge. I want to assure you that we will continue to work guided by our professionalism and we believe that the library will become a favourite corner of our students. Children are the future of this country, and I am sure that they will show their gratitude to you with knowledge and skills in the future”, stated Ms. Snezana Joksimovic, the School Principal.
