DELIVERY OF CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE’S CHRISTMAS GIFTS TO CHILDREN IN SERBIA AND THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA

HRH Crown Princess Katherine’s Foundation, in cooperation with the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, which patron is Her Royal Highness, continues the tradition of bringing the joy and happiness to the children on Serbian Orthodox Christmas. In this mission to rejoice the youngest, the Christmas presents were delivered to children in Belgrade yesterday, and in previous and following days, many more children in Serbia and the Republic of Srpska have already received or will receive holiday gifts, as well.

Crown Princess Katherine Foundation traditionally delivers the presents to the homes for children without parental care, day-care centers for children with special needs, shelters for women and many other institutions. The delivery in Belgrade yesterday is just part of the large project, which was started 20 years ago by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, to bring happiness and smiles to socially vulnerable children in Serbia and the Republic of Srpska. In the following days, before Orthodox Christmas, more than 1,000 children will receive a gift from the Foundation of Crown Princess Katherine.

Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago traditionally gathers donations to purchase gifts for children for the Christmas holidays, which are distributed to children every year. The presents consist of clothes, shoes, toys, hygiene products and school supplies, sweets, and snacks, and the truck with the items for this year’s delivery arrived at the Royal Palace from Chicago 2 weeks ago. The gifts were packed by the Crown Princess Foundation for the children in Serbia and the Republic of Srpska.

“It is extremely important to me that children always feel loved and safe, and that they can rely on those who selflessly care for them at all times. I am sorry that, because of COVID-19 pandemics, this year we could not organize our traditional reception for kids at the White Palace, where I could give them the presents together with my husband, and to see their happiness. But what matters the most is that my Foundation in Belgrade and Lifeline Chicago found a way to deliver the presents to the children, and to keep the tradition of bringing joy to the little ones. When these beautiful kids are happy, when they are smiling, it brings joy to my heart. There is nothing more beautiful in the world than a child’s smile”, said HRH Crown Princess Katherine.
