CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE HELPS RECONSTRUCTION OF CHILDREN’S HOME GYM IN SERBIA

Thanks to the great efforts of Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, whose patron is HRH Crown Princess Katherine, and the donation of Milica Malesevic Estate, the gym in the Home for Children and Persons with Developmental Disabilities “Dr. Nikola Sumenkovic” in Stamnica was reconstructed.
“I am very grateful to the Milica Malesevic Estate for their very generous donation. I am proud of the work of the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago and my Foundation in Belgrade, who together managed to make children and other home users happy with this project. It is extremely important for the persons with developmental disabilities to have a well-equipped space for recreation and physical exercises. We must never forget their needs. That is why they are always in my thoughts and heart”, said HRH Crown Princess Katherine.
With a donation in the amount of $15,000 a complete reconstruction of the gym facade was done, rain gutters were replaced, a new floor, radiators, air conditioner and lighting panels were installed, the hall was painted and new sports equipment was provided – a volleyball net, two basketball hoops, five new mats, soccer balls, basketballs and volleyball balls.
HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation and the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, whose patron is HRH Crown Princess Katherine, with great mutual experience and ambitions, will continue their work to help the most vulnerable in Serbia and the Republic of Srpska.
“The donation of the HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation intended for the renovation of the gym is of great importance for our institution and all the users it accommodates. In this way, greater opportunities are created for even better treatment, development of motor skills, sports and recreational activities and better spending of free time. As a result, we will have a better psychophysical condition, mood and overall satisfaction of our users, which is our greatest reward. We once again thank the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago and Crown Princess Katherine for their help and cooperation”, said Mrs. Ana Tomasevic, the Principal of the Stamnica Home.
